4 best shows, handcuffs, a horse

1. the first concert i ever went to was to go see Madcap at Rockettown in nashville. i was with my friends zack and logan and my mom took us. we walked into rockettown full of excitement and nervousness we were only in 7th grade we went to get a drink from the concession stand thing and met the bassist of madcap sitting there drinkin we chit chatted for a little while and he took us out back to there tour van where we hung out with all the members of the band before the show it was pretty cool the show began and they let us come up on stage and sing with them.
another show was lower class brats. a punk band they played at the muse in nashville the muse is in the hood and while we were there a kid got hit over the head with a barstool and a gang fight broke out it was pretty cool except they had to stop the show early because cops came
another show was mindless self indulgence. i went with my friend ryan and his sister and her boyfriend it was probably the best show ive ever been to they were amazing and put on a great show they were very interactive with the crowd and a reggea band opened for them from jamaica.
Against me! was also a very good show we went to a coffee shop downtown where they were playin an acoustic show and then went to a different place so they could play all the rest of there stuff.
2. 9th grade i was hanging out with some friends of mine and one of them was like hey do yall wanna get drunk everyone was like sure so we went out and bought some beer we were sittin in my buddys car drinkin it and we decided to get out of the car so the first thing we do was put the cooler full of beer on the ground next to the car as we were fixing to get out of the car we all turned around to see blue lights there were 2 cop cars behind us in the parkin spot they were lookin for a car that matched my friends car so they made us all get outta the car and patted us down then they noticed the cooler and popped it open they had found all of our beer but thankfully it wasn't in the car so we denied that it was ours they put us in handcuffs and tried to make us snitch on each other but we didn't say anything so they took our beer poured it out in front of us and left.
3. i was probably about 10 years old at the most and i was at our local fair enjoying the day with my family everything started out fine we were playing games and eating snow cones havin a jolly ole time there was a horse that had a trailer behind it that was carrying people around. we rode on the trailer and the horse was nice. i eventually stranded away from my family and was standing with my friend blake i saw the horse running towards us and my friend blake got outta the way i wasn't so lucky i got ran over by the horse and the trailer and i had to go the hospital. at the hospital we sat there for 2 or 3 hours before we could leave

Us and Them

Most people feel like they are both part of the "us" and "them" groups. The "us" group is people that you would find normal and are alike you. The "them" group would be people who believe different things as you and are just different from you. I believe that most everyone has felt like they have been part of both of these groups.

In the memoir "Us and Them", Sedaris lives near a family called the Tomkeys. The Tomkeys don't believe in TV so Sedaris puts them in the "them" group. He begins to pretty much hate their family. His parents constantly talk about how weird they think the Tomkeys are which I believe is the reason why Sedaris dislikes them so much. Sedaris's parents should have taught him to accept the Tomkey family instead of always talking bad about them.

Writing History

My history of writing has been an interesting one. I like to keep things short and straight to the point. When I was first taught to write I was told paragraphs are three to five sentences long. i prefer to keep it at three. I was never much of a writer in high school where i wrote five paragraph essays my entire time there. I don't really know how to write any other essay besides a five paragraph essay. Also i never really understood the whole plagiarism thing. I know not to copy someone elses work but i never completely understood how to use it as one of your sources for information. The only time in high school I ever really wrote was my senior year when we had to write a journal entry before every class. That was more of imaginary writing because we could just make up stories and write them down. Sometimes they were a sentence long and other times maybe a paragraph. Hopefully through this class I will learn to write more maturely and collegiate. As far as blogging goes this will be my first one. I've never really posted anything on facebook, myspace, or any other blogging website. Hopefully this new experience will help me gain knowledge on how to write more professionally and if not at least make writing a lot more fun.
